Logoori verb differences

The following recordings present further examples from Logoori for you to transcribe and analyze. A second speaker, EM, is introduced in these recordings, which will make you familiar with an additional voice in the language, besides FI. There are a few minor phonetic differences between the speakers, especially how [j] is pronounced, which do not change the basic transcriptional symbols that you would use. They also differ in the treatment of the liquids [r, l, ɭ] whoich are not important for this problem set. Otherwise, in this subset of the language they are creating the same phonological outputs, despite having different voices. The most important thing to get right is the segmental and vowel length content of these words. As always you should try to mark tones accurately, however this data set presents very little variation in tone. Consisent with the focus of this chapter, the solution to these data requires you to make the correct choice for underlying forms. You can ignore tonal differences that you may note since there is not enough data here to lead you to the right rules for tone in this case.

Verbs are given in pairs in the imperative form followed by the infinitive, said by the same speaker.
